Propagation Place – Project Assistants (3 months)

We’re looking for people who want to be part of our Propagation Place team, the Farm’s community e-commerce business, which supports local volunteers and trainees to grow and sell vegetable plug plants. Each year we send out over 2000 orders of vegetable plug plants to people all over the UK. We are looking for 2 people to join our small team for the 2025 growing season (for 3 months) to be responsible for picking and packing and dispatch of vegetable plug plants in collaboration with our nursery staff and other seasonal workers.

If you’re a good communicator, well-organised, have experience picking & packing orders for dispatch and have a keen interest in horticulture, get in touch!

Contract details:

  • Job title: 2 x Propagation Place Project Assistant
  • Responsible to: Propagation Place Manager
  • Contract Type: Fixed term from 17th March – 26 June 2025
  • Salary: £24,294 pro rata (equates to £13.35 per hour)
  • Hours: 20 hours per week (09:30 – 15:00 Monday – Thursday)
  • Location: Propagation Place, St Werburghs City Farm, Bristol (dog-friendly workplace)
  • Interview date: 19th February
  • Start date: 17 March

Propagation Place is focussed on providing accessible career pathways into the field of horticulture, and mentoring, networking and CV development is built into the role as needed.

Therefore, we particularly welcome applicants between the ages of 18-24, who may be claiming Universal Credit, or who have faced barriers to employment in land-based industries.

Propagation Place – Customer Service Officer

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of our Propagation Place team, the Farm’s community e-commerce business, which supports local volunteers and trainees to grow and sell vegetable plug plants. Each year we send out over 2000 orders of vegetable plug plants to people all over the UK. We are looking for a person to join our small team for the 2025 growing season to help us maintain our excellent standard of customer service by responding to customer enquiries, processing order information and ensuring we remain an excellent source of online horticultural information.
